Your story in pictures leaves nothing untold”

Sergio Autrey is a producer, photographer, and musician from Mexico City who has crafted a rich and diverse career where each discipline interweaves and enriches his work. Currently based in Mérida, Yucatán, his life and work reflect a profound curiosity about the world, exploring the intersection of past and present, the visible and the intangible.

His artistic career began at Berklee College of Music, where, after graduating with honors in composition, he quickly forged his path in the industry. As a guitarist and musical director, he toured Mexico and the world with renowned artists, also contributing his talent as a musician and producer to albums awarded gold and platinum records. However, his creativity extends beyond music; he has expanded his vision to audiovisual production, scoring, producing, and directing projects for film, television, and advertising. He has collaborated on films featured at prestigious festivals such as Cannes and Morelia, earning multiple awards, including Ariel nominations and wins, reflecting his commitment to excellence in every project.

Over the past decade, he served as Director of Multimedia at Editorial Notmusa, where he led significant growth in the company’s social media presence, reaching over 50 million followers and surpassing a billion views. His ability to understand audiences and their preferences has been key to generating content that not only attracts but also preserves brand identity, creating authentic connections.

In recent years, Sergio has reconnected with photography as a natural extension of his narrative, deeply exploring the identity and symbolism of each space he captures. His work is frequently featured in magazines, travel guides, scientific articles, and television programs,  and has been exhibited in national and international galleries and museums. Among his recent exhibitions are Roots of Water at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, D.C., where he explored the essential role of water in the formation and present-day life of the Yucatán Peninsula; exhibits at the Mexican Senate and Chamber of Deputies commemorating the 50th anniversary of Quintana Roo; and his participation in the Festival de Tradiciones de Vida y Muerte in Xcaret, with a series dedicated to Mayan elders and the Hanal Pixán, the Mayan Day of the Dead. Through portraits and audio recordings, Sergio offers a profound and authentic view of the living traditions of this region, capturing in each image the soul, cultural identity, and legacy of its people.

As a multifaceted creator, Sergio Autrey continues to explore and expand the boundaries of his audiovisual narrative, combining his experience in production, music, and photography to offer unique perspectives that reflect the richness of Mexico and its culture.
